  1. Stage D
  2. The tumor has spread to lymph nodes and distant locations and is rarely curable. There are often symptoms of urinary obstruction or pain from metastases to bone.
  3.     This stage is further divided into: 
  4. ‚Ä¢ D-0. The tumor appears localized to the prostate as
  5.   if it were Stage B, but the blood test tumor marker
  6.   prostatic acid phosphatase is elevated, indicating
  7.   that the tumor has spread to distant sites.
  8. ‚Ä¢ D-1. Spread to lymph nodes in the pelvis.
  9. ‚Ä¢ D-2. Spread to bone or distant organs. 
  10. ‚Ä¢ D-3. Patients with Stage D-2 disease who have 
  11.   relapsed after adequate hormonal therapy.
  12.
